épique du mercredi au Centre Videotron 16 septembre 2015
Si lundi
dernier j’étais resté sur mon appétit en tant que fan de Metallica pour le spectacle de fermeture du
Colisée. Je ne peux que vous dire que le
spectacle d’ouverture du Centre Videotron mercredi m’a complétement comblé. Je suis encore tout ébranlé par ma soirée de
mercredi et ce, pour plusieurs raison;
Premièrement,
l’ambiance qu’il a eue avant et durant le spectacle était presque surréelle. Dès le début de
l’après-midi, l’atmosphère était à la fête autour du Centre Videotron. Le parking commençait déjà à se remplir. Ça
ressemblait énormément au ‘’tailgate party’’ lors des spectacles ou évènements
aux États-Unis. Les gens étaient festifs et très conviviales. Pour en
ajouter, la température estivale n’a fait qu’augmenter le plaisir.
Devant le Centre
Videotron, plusieurs stations de radios diffusaient en direct, il y avait de
l’animation, de la musique et des pouponnes Budweiser. On avait même
apporté, pour l’occasion, le gros camion Budweiser à l’effigie de la
nouvelle bière Metallica (qui sera
disponible le 28 septembre). Les fans
avaient même la possibilité de signer la citerne pour immortaliser ce moment.
BARONESS
Durant le
spectacle, l’ambiance de la foule était survoltée du début à la fin. Je suis
persuadé que le groupe a ressenti notre présence et notre amour pour le groupe
à la puissance 10. Dès le début de l’intro, la foule s’est levée pour ne plus
se rassoir de la soirée, nous avons chanté, crié et ovationné à en avoir des
frissons. Il y a très longtemps que je n’avais pas ressenti cette émotion si
puissante durant un spectacle.
De plus,
avoir le privilège d’avoir des places de choix dans le Centre Videotron (le plus Hi tech présentement en
Amérique du nord). Je dois, malheureusement, avoué qu’à Québec votre
amphithéâtre est plus beau que le nôtre à Montréal ;). Sérieusement, c’est vraiment bien pensé, ça
ressemble à ceux aux États unis c’est-à-dire avec des aires ouvertes, beaucoup de places pour circuler afin de ne
rien manquer de l’action. De longs escaliers roulants complètent le tout avec
des gens de la sécurité et au service qui sont excessivement gentils. Je me
suis même permis une petite escapade dans les hautes sphères du Centre
Videotron durant Baronness et même dans
les hauteurs le son était plus que décent. Par contre, les files au comptoir à
bières étaient très achalandées. J’ai tenté d’aller me chercher un petit drink
durant l’intermission mais ce fut peine perdu car l’attente était également
trop longue au Bar-lounge. Mais au final, c’est très impressionnant d’être là.
C’est carrément génial. Nous sommes capables de bien entendre chacun des
instruments des musiciens. Le son est fort et clean. Metallica a passé haut la
main le test du Centre Videotron.
Finalement,
mercredi soir, le choix des chansons (set-list), m’a fait grand plaisir ainsi
qu’à beaucoup de fans de la vielle époque. Quand les cinq premières chansons
sont : Creeping Death, Master of Puppets, Battery, Harvester of Sorrow et Ride
the Lightning, tu peux commencer à croire que ce sera un ‘’special Night’’ Nous avons
eu droit à de belles surprises telles que The Frayed Ends of Sanity de l’album And Justice for All et Unforgiven
II qui n’avaient jamais été jouées en Amérique du nord. Même St Anger a été des
plus agréables à réentendre. De plus, la version de Fade to Black a été jouée
différemment de la veille.
Je suis un
grand fan de Metallica mais également un grand critique de Metallica à la fois.
Par contre, mercredi soir j’ai assisté à un spectacle mémorable de mon groupe préféré et ce dans un
amphithéâtre des plus hi-tech avec la meilleure sonorisation. Une foule des
plus bruyante et participative à laquelle j’ai été présent dans mes 800
derniers concerts couronnait le tout. Tout cela, avec une place de choix. Tous
ces facteurs réunis…. j’en suis encore sur un nuage!!!!!

Wednesday epic evening at Videotron Centre (september 16th 2015)
If on Monday I had stayed on my appetite as a
Metallica fan for the closing show of the Coliseum. I can only tell you that
the opening show of the Videotron Center Wednesday made me completely filled. I
am still reeling from my Wednesday night and this for several reasons;
First, the atmosphere we had before and during the
show were almost surreal. By early afternoon, the atmosphere was festive around
the Videotron Centre. The parking lot was already beginning to fill up. It
looked tremendously like a tailgate party during shows and events in the United
States. The people were very friendly and festive. To add, the summer
temperature has only increased the fun. Several radio stations broadcasted live before the
Videotron Centre. There were animation, music and Budweiser chicks. For the
occasion, the big Budweiser truck bearing the image of the new Metallica beer
(which will be available September 28) was there. The fans had even the
possibility of signing the tank to capture the moment.
BARONESS
During the show, the mood of the crowd was boosted
from beginning to end. I am confident that the bands member felt our presence
and our love for them at level 10. From the beginning of the intro, the crowd
rose to no longer seat back for the evening.
We sang, screamed and made ovation to have chills. It’s benne long ago since I have not felt
this powerful emotion during a show. Moreover, I had the privilege of having good seats in
the Videotron Center (the most Hi tech presently in North America). I must,
unfortunately, declare that your amphitheater in Québec is better than ours in
Montreal). Seriously, it's really well thought out, it looks like those in the
United States that is to say, with open areas, many places to travel in order
not to miss any of the action. Long escalators complete the package with
security guards and service clerks that are excessively sweet. I even allowed
myself a quick getaway in the higher spheres of Videotron Centre during
Baroness performance and even in the heights, the sound was more than decent.
For cons, the line ups at the beer counter were very long. I tried to get myself a drink during
intermission but it was hardly lost because the wait was too long also in the
Bar-lounge. But ultimately, it's very impressive to be there. That's just
great. We are able to hear each of the musician’s instruments. The sound is
strong and clean. Metallica has passed with flying colors the test of Videotron
Centre.
Finally, on Wednesday night the set list, gave me
great pleasure, as well as many fans of the old era. When the first five songs
are: Creeping Death, Master of Puppets, Battery, Harvester of Sorrow and Ride
the Lightning, you can begin to believe that it will be a '' special Night '' We were treated to some nice surprises such as The
Frayed Ends of Sanity from the album And Justice for All and Unforgiven II that
had never been performed in North America. Even St Anger was most pleasant to
hear again. In addition, the version of Fade to Black was played differently
than the night before. I'm a big fan of Metallica, but also a great critic of
Metallica. But Wednesday night I attended a memorable show from my favorite
band and in one of the most hi-tech amphitheater with the best sound system. A
most noisy and participative crowd to which I attended in my 800 last concerts
crowned the whole. And with a perfect
seat on top of it all. All these factors together.... I'm
still on a cloud!!!!!
